Done with salen-why did Dr. Glassman leave?
darleneharvie28 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, as others have said, the "salen" character needs to go. I'd be happy with them killing her off!!! She belittles everyone, she's manipulative, she changes her whims every five minutes, she's only after MONEY, and *SPOILER ALERT* she made Dr. Aaron Glassman get in his car with his luggage and leave. If the writers don't change things soon, I'm not sure I'll keep watching. And why didn't we see Dr. Asher Wolke or Dr. Jordan Allen this week? I like the growth I'm seeing from Dr. Morgan Reznick, and I like how Dr. Alex Park is supporting her. Can we have a letter from Dr. Claire Browne, telling us of some good news in Guatemala? Maybe the actress can "read" it to us in an episode? Or show a few scenes of her writing it to her former friends and colleagues, and mailing it to them? C'mon, be "The Good Doctor" that I first watched and loved!!!

S5.E4 - Good Episode but i Hate Salen [9/10]
panagiotis199331 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S5. E4) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 4 ''Rationality''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Dr. Glassman is so lonely and it sucks, he is in self-destruction mode it seems. Salen is so annoying, I want her gone, she ruins the show for me. This woman abandoned her son when he was 12 years old and now the doctors tell him to give one of his lungs for her? What a joke. Why is this parent giving them advice? He is not even a doctor. At least they found a way to help the little girl. This son gave his lung to his mom, I wouldnt. Dr. Glassman left the house with his car but where is he going? Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

I relived the great episodes from the beginning

Freddie's acting is just amazing and bringing in, I cannot describe how I am feeling after watching this episode. Furthermore, Salem's character has given an incredible turn to the season.

Rationnal but not realistic

So I guess we're still going on with this Salen character and her incredible unrealistic choices (Putting a civilian who's the father of the patient in a diagnosis team, having a billboard with Shaun's image without his consent).

I just hope they're going to stop with this nonsens and remove Salen quickly so we can get back to the good doctor.

Agreed...

Warning: Spoilers
There is no way in hell or on earth a father would be allowed in let alone put on a medical team, be in on the diagnosing and suggestions treatment of his daughter (even if he was full doctor he would not be on his own daughters case). As Sean says the father should be advised after the doctors discuss.

As for the episode the non Doctor in charge (who has run other hospitals in line with bringing in the money, and who has previously interfered with patient treatments by undercutting and advising surgeries must be passed by legal so as not to be sued) would not set herself up to be sued by putting a non qualified, non doctor in on the team. The mere fact that the father talks and then wants the treatment he suggested would be in itself a standard door hole size opening to allow that father to sue the hospital for millions (as they did his treatment that almost killed the daughter). The mere suggestion of such a thing goes against her character as she simply walks into many conversations/situations she knows she's not qualified for and then comments like "Run that by legal" and "as long as it's covered by their insurance": to now advise the father must be in on every aspect is not smart or in line with anything she's ever said or done before.

Lastly to bring the plot back around to one of the fathers suggestions does bring the theory to a close and thus should not allow the hospital to be sued later.

So basically this episode should almost be treated as only a theory that was talked about, talked through and then became treatment but would not be done in real world: it's a case study idea.
