I found Season 4 to be so disappointing that I almost stopped watching. While I do miss Adrian & Luca (my favorite character) I am interested in watching again..

Black and White: Guest starring Elaine May, Wayne Brady, Jane Curtin and Jesse Tyler Ferguson
safenoe20 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It's heartening to see Jesse Tyler Ferguson still getting work after Modern Family, with his guest appearance in hit surreal and Barton Finkesque episode of The Good Fight. Jesse gets with "With" credit, and Jane Curtin gets an "And". The great Elaine May plays the late Ruth Bader Ginsberg in a Barton Finkesque sequence.
Diane's incredibly torn between his love for Kurt and his politics. The Dawnk app run amok with derogatory messages reminded me of Black MIrror.

Amazing

I love that they finally touched this theme that was a going thing on the back of the previous episodes of the season. I think they handled it perfectly. I understand both sides.
Absoluely loved that ending with Diane and Kurt. Honestly it made me tear up. Their love is so good and healthy. I love them and I love this show so much. So happy season 6 is happening, and I'm really hoping it isn't the last.

A healthy look at issues

This is my favorite episode of the season. The writers took a hard look at cancel culture and not blindly following the liberal agenda at the expense of all else. The theme seemed to be that it is okay to disagree on issues but it doesn't mean you have to be enemies. The relationship between Kurt and Diane is a case in point. They are politically polar opposites but have a true love and respect for each other that transcends personal opinions.
Best episode ever

Always on the pulse

Going right back to the Good Wife, this series has always been on the pulse. Addressing complicated and very current issues head on, but in a balanced way, and without ever taking a side. Most importantly it never lands in the middle either.
Often surreal, while somehow always remaining believable (like real life), this episode is a masterclass in quality writing, with great performances by all.
Succession is currently getting all the attention (and is also brilliantly written, and surreal), and the Good Fight stands alongside it as a brilliant cultural observation with all its strange and wonderful facets.

The myopia just astounds...

The constant, one-sided articulation of such complex issues drives me mad.
And the idea that any of them are victims beggars belief.
And, please, stop with the conversations with famous dead people. It's pretentious and lazy writing.
