It's bonkers, but it's entertaining.

Harry is mentioned in Edgar's suicide note, he's interviewed by The Police. Jefferson Grieff gets some life changing news.

I think as far as enjoyment goes, it's getting more and more enjoyable with every passing episode, it also moving further and further away from reality as well.

I'm trying to understand why Beth is suddenly so convinced that something has happened to Janice, I'm really struggling to piece together the link, I'm waiting for a ten minute segment in the final episode where all of the pieces are put together, I'm also bamboozled as to why Harry has done what he's done.

There are definitely some interesting elements, the way in which something so small, and seemingly so inconsequential has turned into a matter of life and death.

Janice is becoming more and more irritating, I'm only surprised she hasn't landed up chained up in someone's cellar a long time before.

I think Stanley Tucci overshadowed everyone else in the first two episodes, here though it really is David Tennant who shone through, he was phenomenal throughout.

7/10.

I still want to watch it but it's stupid

Warning: Spoilers
It's one of those shows where you can't help saying things like "oh come on that's ridiculous" over and over again but I still want to know what's going to happen in the next episode. It's really not very good and makes very little sense as a way any human would act in real life but maybe that's part of the reason it's addictive, because it's so absurd. Random thoughts:
  • the lady in the cellar is awful I kind of hope they do pop her off, allthough pretty sure it won't (episode 3)
  • I think they might be trying to make you think there's twists and turns in the marriage relationship and trust, but they are also keeping someone in the cellar and are both ok with that.

  • They had a leaky gas bottle and heater and decided to store it (full, presumably 😂) in the shed for future use?!

  • The cellar has a better sound proofing than a high street nightclub.

  • They turn it on with all the flame on so presumably it's not leaking?

  • The son is hiding in the shadows instead of letting her out? 😂 And won't confront kidnapping parents?

Episode 3

Edgar has committed suicide and left a note. The police contact Harry for an interview.

Harry thinks that Edgar will have confessed about the contents of the flash drive. This means Janice could be set free.

Only Edgar's note is more cryptic. Indicating that the vicar is taking the blame for someone else. The vicar's son is not off the hook.

This spells trouble for Janice as Harry and Mary become more desperate.

It is almost cringing as Harry seems to be making things worse for him than better. He overthinks everything and then regards his self sacrifice as something biblical.

I find Jefferson Grieff's story more interesting. He has sent someone to meet Beth Davenport when she returns to Britain.

With his execution date set. The audience learns just what kind of monster Grieff is.
