A great start to the series, the storyline is captivating and cryptic, and it left me wanting to see where it goes. The cinematography gives off the perfect dark vibe, and the scenery is beautiful. Acting is decent from the whole cast.

Wonderful Pacing

Feeling like a Scandinavian version of another mystery series, Dark.
It's been a long time since I've seen a solid series that manages to play the story out at its own pace. None of the frenetic US hyperpacing and insta-reveal.
Drawing us into the characters and hinting at something unknown and potentially malevolent.
The TikTok / Youtube Shorts and 15 minute, MTV length episodes have created a generation of young "adults" who are apparently unable to stand more than 5 minutes without someone shooting something or blowing something up or even just sit and watch a tale unfold before their eyes and savour the mystery.

Certainly conjures up the sense of how grim life is in a near-abandonned village living in the shadow of an active volcano on an island in the arctic.
The actors are good (so much better than plastic Hollywood automata).
Very slow, but at least makes you wonder where the story is going.
I think the first mission to Mars should be Icelanders - I suspect they will find Mars more comfortable than Katla.

Wow... this series is about as boring as you can get. Watching paint dry is much more entertaining. Just the word, Iceland, tells the whole plot. Ugly boring people working in and around a ugly volcano. The plot makes so sense and the director makes little effort to do so.
The only thing that gives it any scenic value is the Drone shots. I looked up, Traveling to Iceland? " Don't Go! " was the reply I received back. " Don't Watch!" Is my advice to you!
