First.... Trevante Rhodes is undoubtedly a fantastic actor, but... He doesn't look anything like Mike Tyson. It's very HUGELY distracting, however, he nailed Mike's accent and prose. It's difficult when you attempt to dramatize such an iconic individual, who is still relevant and part of current culture. Tyson isn't some long forgotten sports icon from generations ago, his face and image is still very well known today.
Appearance issues aside, this episode is a fine start, honestly better than I expected it to be. The production is tight, the writing and dialog is surprisingly good. The music used throughout the episode is an absolute highlight, props to the music supervisor.
It's all very sympathetic to Tyson, which honestly, I'm fine with.
