Best Sunday dinner ever!

Not every subplot is great in this episode, but don't miss the Sunday dinner scene - real and hilarious!

One of the beat episodes of the Series

I've stuck with the show for 11 years, even though it's your typical procedural drama. This past week was terrific. Frank's interaction with the disabled detective was terrific. And Bridget Moynihan has really evolved as an actress, and has built her character vividly.

One of My Favorite Episodes

Don't miss the family dinner scene. Absolutely hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing long after the scene was over. The actress playing the disabled detective was very good, very believable. Not sure the resolution reached in this episode would ever happen in the real world, but it was good drama all the same. The same for Erin's story line. The woman playing the mother of the girl killed was very good. She really tugged at my heart strings, and I liked how Erin resolved the sentencing issue. Brigid Moynihan has really come a long, long way as an actress. She should make more feature films, but I guess the shooting schedule for BB prevents that.

Utterly ridiculous

Warning: Spoilers
There is no way that someone in a wheelchair will be able to do the job necessary as a detective. Are her now 2 partners supposed to carry her and her wheelchair up numerous flights of stairs in buildings that do not have an elevator so she can look at a crime scene? She was offered a promotion and turned it down. One that would allow her to be a detective, just not one that went to crime scenes. The other reviewer was right when he pointed our that a guy with a gun and able to run would not have been able to be caught by someone in a wheelchair. The rest of the stories were fine, but it got downgraded due to the stupidity of this part of the show. Then at the end she mentions that she has applied to other police departments. There is no police department that is going to let her be a detective that goes to active crime scenes. It sucks that she is disabled and in a wheelchair, but life throws us curve balls and we need to often change the course and path that we were on. If they wanted her to remain as a detective that investigates crime scenes, they needed to write it so that she finds a way to regain the use of her legs and is now capable of walking on her own to do the investigations, as well as being able to run after those who try to get away. That is a part of being an investigative detective. They need better writers. That was just straight up ridiculous.

PC Nonsense

Warning: Spoilers
So we are supposed to believe that a street detective relegated to a wheelchair remains capable of effectively performing as a street detective? Seriously? And we are suppose to believe that this detective in a wheelchair with a baton won a battle with a non-handicapped perp with a gun? Why not? And the cherry on the fairy tale is that NYC has the finances to pay for a third detective to babysit her. Well done!

The PC narrative!

Warning: Spoilers
Good episode except for the PC crap they pulled!! White guy drunk bad guy for who he killed for being drunk. Doing something good on the playground doesn't fix the bad white guy aspect!! What this is doing is saying only white people drink & drive! Crap needed to stop 15 years ago!!
