Warning do not watch unless seen episode.

This is one of my favorite Rifftrax episodes/movies at least in my book. This film is pretty much in the same vein as two favorite "MST3K" episodes of mine "Prince of Space" and "Puma Man" (both I reviewed).

Plot is the typical evil alien invaders come to Target Earth (again) and we have this Superman wanabe hero Starman who looks like he's wearing the same bat suit costume Wille Coyote wore in one "Looney Tunes" episode which you can say not just adds to the hilarious badness of the film. And of course, this Superman rip-off is trying to save Earth, that's it in a nutshell nothing complicated, it's as basic as it can get which wouldn't be bad if it were good.

This episode is practically a Riffing gold mine as there are tons of memorable riffs like the business with one evil alien space station. Starman comes in and of course beats the crap out of all the baddies with not so good choreography. What's strange about that fight is this Starman actually uses some of the same moves and sequences at least twice or three times, I don't know if the chorographer forgot about that sequence which is why it's repeated, or someone just edited and reused the same clip in the fight sequence thinking we wouldn't notice.

However, after the fight we see Starman go outside and bend and break some random grate, fly away and the station is destroyed. This is hilarious as the guys point on how pointless the battle sequence we saw earlier was and that was all Starman had to do in the first place.

Also like how in one of the flying sequences, the guys do a reference to the "MST3K" episode Puma Man and they even hum it's theme song, yeah I agree guys Starman also flies like a moron.

In the final half we get to the big pay off at least for this Rifftrax episode, where we see one of the longest and not so good battle sequences ever. It is just pure mayhem and hilarity all around, you could literally play a drinking game pointing out all of the chorography blunders as well as more people falling off railings and no railings more than in the MST3K episode "Space Mutiny" (also reviewed).

It's just funny as we see the Rifftrax boys just saying one memorable line after another as they and we are watching one of the worst battles in movies and you could say Super Sentai unfold. From seeing Starman clearing throw a rubber dummy at the bad guys. When the bad guys are ganging up on Starman, they all just break away despite not seeing Starman doing any fancy move. Coming up top and going into a strongman pose and pulling off a heroic laugh though sounds more like a villainous laugh, from how one sided the battle is Starman almost seems like a super villain.

There is two memorable riffs I'll just state since their just too many good ones to state. First one is Mike saying for "Starman" to just use the guns instead of all the fisticuffs, which makes sense as that's really all Starman could have done throughout most of this battle, let alone get things done faster.

The second riff I really love like when Bill states how many decks of the ship there are during this battle and then both Kevin and Mike give out a painful "Nooooo!" Yeah, even I'm starting the pain of the overly long battle too. Heck, even the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" themselves would get bored themselves if they had to fight this battle.

This Rifftrax episode flies all the way to the stars and beyond.

Rating: 4 stars.
