Episode 5

Warning: Spoilers
Still interesting, but not quite as impactful as past episodes. Curioius to see where this goes, but it feels like the family makes some really smart moves followed by some really dumb moves, and you'd think they'd limit those having done this so many times.

It's getting worse

Every decision making is so weird and the story telling is getting bad.

Really loved the first episode, but i am starting to doubt it's a good show.

Failed episode...
Malloy-200025 May 2021
There's a lot of holes in the plot but we can tolerate some exceptions...now it's the rule.

Good
  • Cinematography

Bad
  • Teenagers storyline makes "absolutely no sense"
  • Finding someone in Mexico City in just a few minutes...yeah right!

  • ...and so many other holes

The script is just bad. Very bad. We don't know anything about this family and we don't really care anymore. That's a huge problem, because they are your main characters.

The production team is trying to stretch the mystery ambiance but it's not working anymore. Too bad, in the first episodes they were some nice flashes. Unless they have a spectacular final, that's it for this show. Nice try!

This is the episode that tanked the series

Warning: Spoilers
This entire story is hanging on the mysterious nature of the supposed genius father and his past. Now up to this episode the family has also shown to be above average intelligence.

Just this in mind and you expect me to believe this family took all episode before they realized their hosts were either cartel or some other equally dangerous crime organization..... I mean really?

1. It's Mexico... the place where 5 star amazing resorts all come standard with a small private army sporting gear and weapons you see normally only for marines deploying in Afghanistan and clear "Leave the resort grounds at your own very large risk" written into your check in paperwork. My first thought when I saw the two identical trucks and 4 guys to pick up "for all they knew at the time, 1 guy" so before I even saw the compound, I thought not was this a cartel but which one

2. You traveled with an Ex Coyote... now this might not be as much of a red flag if he had been sneaking them INTO America.... but he was sneaking them out and from the dialogue, it's clear when he was a full time coyote before he was most likely the only coyote in business sneaking people out of AMERICA into MEXICO..... Ladies and gentlemen, I live in Texas. I can say with 100% confidence and certainty not one of the immigrants that sneak into our country via a coyote gets here, decides "it's not quite what they imagined, please sir! Could you sneak me back to Mexico!?"

I'd put my life on that.., but even if they did... guess what..... they ain't stopping people and asking what business they have in Mexico and how long they expect to stay.., no they either say "hey you do know your going into Mexico right?" Or play games/pranks with people like the "SuperTroopers" movie and see how many dumbass tourists they can get bribes from....

I don't even need to continue because if that knowledge above is available and these supposedly genius and above average intelligence possibly former spies and their kids didn't realize immediately they were in danger.... Well frankly there is no if scenario here.... So you just ruined the entire series.

So stupid
aimee92521 May 2021
God I must have rolled my eyes at least 10 times in this episode. Stupid decision after stupid decision. Sure, they're teenagers but knowing what they're hiding from, and to be acting so idiotic just doesn't correlate. In "real life" the parents would have warned them of many things and how to behave, obviously. Especially a parent that worked for the NSA, should be aware that everyone is watching, always. Buy a freaking baseball hat at the very least lol. But no they're all just out in the open, la dee da.

And blah blah blah "Americans are so pathetic" it's just a pretentious show, becoming more so as each episode unfolds.

One bad decision after another
wesleytwiggs21 May 2021
This is a series that refuses to reveal anything to the audience. It's not suspenseful, it's tiring... and frankly, destroys any emotional investment we might be willing to commit to the show or its characters. 5 episodes in and we still know nothing about the protagonists, and at this point I don't care if the whole family falls off the face of the Earth. I've wasted enough time with this show. They can keep making one bad decision after another, but I won't. Moving on.

Warning: Spoilers
However the Charlie's character performance needs to be fixed more, btw the hitman's character was a bit hateful and I couldn't accept it.
