They decided to dive headfirst into the western alter reality of this docudrama and I don't think it totally paid off. The scenes didn't coexist well with the story being told. Still some heartfelt moments and certainly an interesting end to this odd tale.

What the hell was that?

I really enjoyed the first three episodes. They were great and really creative, set up like stage-plays with the characters walking through different stage sets as they laid out what happened. I wasn't expecting the first three episodes to be so good; had all four been like them, then I'd give the show an 8 overall. But this episode randomly starts having scenes of an old western, with them riding horses around an old cow-town. These random, completely irrelevant scenes took away from the few genuinely touching and emotional scenes in the courtroom. I get that they were trying to be creative and arty, but the first three episodes did this just right; this one did not at all. It completely ruined the miniseries for me.
