This series was brilliant for 3 Seasons. The series was about the very interesting marriage of Chuck (Paul Giamatti) and Wendy (Maggie Siff) Rhoades; Chuck's relationship with his father (Jeffrey DeMunn); and Chuck and Bobby Axelrod's (Damien Lewis) ongoing feud. It had a great soundtrack, very funny cultural references, and it had 'Wags' Wagner (David Costabile).
Then, it went woke in the form of the insufferably unwatchable Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillion). It took a journey into ludicrous town that only Hollywood could possibly think resembled anything like Wall Street. Taylor Mason could not exist on Wall Street.
Then, sensing it was the perfect ending for his character, Bobby Axelrod exiles himself to Switzerland and Damian Lewis quits the show. Enter yet another insufferable woke character, Mike Prince (Corey Stoll) and we are headed for big trouble.
So it was with great trepidation that I tuned in to watch the Series 6 debut. Wall Street does not come to mind, but rather the old song 'Feelings, nothing more than feelings.' But we still have Chuck and Chuck Senior and Wags, so I'll see what happens. Unfortunately, we've already witnessed the debacle that was the Dexter: New Blood finale and the horrible emasculation of Ray Donovan, so this show is on double-secret probation.
