Eh?

The sketches started off funny but just seemed to get weaker and weaker as things went along. By the very end the Jacinda sketch wasn't remotely amusing, just bizarre.

I will say I was impressed by just how current the sketches were.

I wanted to like it...

I'd been looking forward to watching this since it was announced summer of 2019 and even purchased a subscription to BB just for this programme. I was impressed with the puppets and clips put out on social media channels and the voice talent listed.

On to the first episode; I'll start with the positives:
  • Good puppets (as with the original)
  • Good sets
  • Fair voices

And now the negative: It wasn't funny. There were parts that made me slightly smile, but the script writing needs a lot of improvement. Many of the jokes were flat, predictable, repetitive, and just boring.

I'll give episode two a go to see if it improves.

Had me howling.

Super funny and super relevant.

This was brilliant, it really took me back to my youth, the joys of watching Spitting Image on a Sunday night.

Very topical, not afraid to pull a few punches.

Loved the choice of characters, the portrayal of Boris was just hilarious. Trump, Raab and of course the Royals. I'm so glad they followed the formula with the musical at the end.

I hope this succeeds where Newzoids failed. I hope there isn't the constant argument of it being too left or too right, it's political satire, and right now, we need it.

Bravo, well done all involved. 10/10.

Only because you can't do a zero

WTF! I can only apologise to the world! Spitting image was a politically relevant, current affairs satirical program. This is a pile of dog s**t. The writers should be ashamed!

Warning: Spoilers
It was very funny, a few mediocre sketches, one bad one, but I didn't mind because that's how the old ones were but the majority had me gasping for air, especially mini Kevin hart, Greta Thunberg and Prince Harry as Hitler. I don't get why people aren't liking no this, it makes me very self conscious to hear other people hate something I enjoyed but hey ho. As long as next week holds up. This and doc who is the only reason I have britbox, I'll cancel after spitting Image finishes tho. 10/10- maybe I'm just being nostalgic!

Not as 'safe' as I expected for 2020

Warning: Spoilers
Keeping as controversial as the original series was something I kind of expected to be missing but I was wrong. Although from this episode it wasn't quite as risqué as the original series, it was closer than I predicted.

Very funny from the start, accurate puppets and the truth of our embarrassing government exposed. Boris shown to never sack Mr Cummings no matter what atrocities he commits. Trump literally tweeting out of his backside. Michael Gove as creepy as ever...

Looking forward to the next episode!! Glad it's back!
