Toynton Grange is perhaps not the wholesome, middle class establishment it first appeared, several guests have dark, hidden secrets.
Maggie Hewson is the most interesting character in my opinion, I do love Pauline Collins, but Maggie is perhaps the one that stands out, she's a little rough around the edges, and visibly after what she can get.
This has gotten more and more interesting with every passing episode, added a slow start it's opening up into an excellent whodunnit, this one is packed with atmosphere and menace.
PD James was always so clever in her writing, she always had the brilliance to lure you into believing you're in a world where everything is comfortable, safe and proper, but scratch the Royal Doulton tea service, and underneath lays a web of adultery, blackmail and lies.
It was you, Michael rang. That was a very good scene. You know what's to follow after that.
I was critical of the early episodes, this bad me captivating. 9/10.
