Absolutely dramatic in every way. Dramatic acting, editing and screenplay. A movie that knows Polish history is simply offensive. A conglomerate of idiotic nonsense.

Bad acting, bad storytelling,

It's an interesting part of Polish history and I was excited to see it on screen. Pictures, acting, scenography, dialogue was so bad that I actually left 30 min before finale - doesn't happen, ever... maybe I'll watch the end when in becomes available on streaming platform just for a sake of it ... See it for yourself...
Mr Wos is the best screenwriter of all time.

Warning: Spoilers
I survived until 10:02 of this hell. How come I know that? Well, that's when the worst bit of dialogue I ever heard takes place.
'Comrades, will you help?' No, here only a bit of vodka could...
BTW for those unaquainted with the Polish political scene, I'd like to point out that Mr Wos, the screenwriter for this terrible bit of cinema, is about as sane as Mr Trump and about as left-leaning as Bernie Sanders. Hope this give you an idea...

Controversial and possibly deceiving

I kinda liked the story, although I have no idea if it was true. After all, this isn't a documentary. However, the film seems a bit controversial, as there are still hundreds of thousands of communists and soviet union lovers in contemporary Poland. Some of them believe that Gierek was a traitor, while others think that he was a genuine patriot who wanted to improve the country's economy. The film shows just one of these approaches. Now, what I didn't like was the acting, especially that of the pivotal figure played by Michal Koterski. Ugh, he was just so unfit for the part... He's just a bad actor, that's all.
Gierek - he wanted well, and it came out in Polish

A film that ex-communists will not like, and there are still some of them in Poland. The film evokes feelings of amusement and despair in Polish viewers. Older viewers may recognize certain facts from the era, but only by watching this film can they find the answer to the question why and how?
But how much truth is there in it?
Poland has never accounted for the wrongs suffered by red compatriots.
Certainly, the film will arouse a lot of emotions ... extreme, from left to right.
