It is nice to see the end of the flashbacks. The series can concentrate on Hugh's recovery rather than his convoluted love life.
Hugh still hopes to fly, the surgeons have done the best they can with his face and hands. However it is still a question of whether he is fit enough and he should look around for another occupation.
Hugh gets a chance to work in advertising, some propaganda for the war effort. He has talent but not the face to display to those who commission the projects.
At least Hugh finally gets to meet Bunty. It seems Hugh harbours no ill feelings towards Julian for stealing her.
Julian still being a flyer knows he could buy it so easily in the next dogfight. Julian requests a favour from Hugh in the event he is killed.
Given the title A Perfect Hero, it is just so lukewarm and the writing is banal. I was expecting Hugh busting a gut to fly again, like Douglas Bader. It is just a lot of moping about.
