Dumb Plot

What is the use of having a multi million dollar warship armed to the teeth if you never use it. Whenever there is a problem, the first thing the captain does is disengages from pursuit. In this episode, the captain sees mercenaries onboard a ship containing RPGs with a hostage and he just lets them go because he doesnt want to harm the hostage when he very well knows the fate of that hostage if done nothing. So, instead of taking the acceptable risk and engaging the enemy, the captain once again runs away from a fight. The name of the ship should be "HMAS Runaway Coward".

Warning: Spoilers
I agree 100% with the other reviewer. Captain Flynn sealed the fate of the captured ship captain when he decided to disengage from the hostage situation. There was a 0% chance that a ruthless mercenary was going to simply let the captain walk away once they reached the island. Then when Flynn is informed that the captain was shot in the head and dumped on the beach he offers an uncaring, "I'm sorry to hear that, Sir". In real life he would have been sorry. The captain's family would have grounds for a massive dereliction of duty lawsuit against the crew of the Hammersly. The mercenary could not have been presenting a better, more open target. He was standing straight up with the captain kneeling in front of him. One bullet from that 50 cal would have resolved the situation. This is a fun show but the writers were complete idiots in many of the episodes.
