Silly but imaginative (part 3)

In this, the 'third act' of the three-part story arc about a wayward moon on collision course with the planet Ophecius, Rocky hastens to prevent Cleolanta from destroying Posito with 'tocanic missles' before the gypsy moon's population can be evacuated. The story is pretty good, there is lots of daring-do and fisticuffs between moments of pure space-opera, and the finale, including the titular crash and the fleet of evacuation rockets, is impressive (at least by the show's standards). The venomous Cleolanta (who secretly 'carries a candle' for a certain handsome Space Ranger) seems to have an epiphany at the end, which may account for this being the last appearance of actress Patsy Parsons as Rocky's nemesis. Also leaving the Space Ranger's TV-universe is Professor Newton (due to the death of character actor Maurice Cass). All in all, this is a pretty good yarn from of the more popular progenitors of TV science fiction but, if you're unsure if you can watch Rocky Jones' antiquated space-adventures with a straight face, the movie version was skewered by the robotic wits on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
