Good ending to yet another season
Hunter74828 April 2020
I'll keep it short, me being a fan of Nathan, the finale scene of the finale was something worth watching over and over again. That said hope the show would be renewed for another season.

Don't Go!
ISmellSnow14 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
We start the episode with Lee getting a telegram from his sister that she is visiting Hope Valley the next day. Lucas tells Elizabeth that a publisher wants to speak to her about her book so they go together to call him at the mercantile. He wants to pay her $200 to publish her novel.

Henry has a dizzy spell at the cafe. Dr Carson gives him an exam at the infirmary and tells him he's suffering from exhaustion.

Bill informs Nathan that the family of the man he arrested, Elias, has hired a lawyer and his trial will be in Buxton. Nathan has to travel to Buxton too.

Susannah arrives in Hope Valley and is very reserved towards Lee and Rosemary. After dinner together, they have an awkward conversation. Lee eventually goes to visit Susannah in her hotel room. They reminisce while looking at old family photos. They start talking about the past and she gets upset. The next day, Rosemary goes to visit Susannah to try to get her to reconnect with Lee. Later that evening, she comes back to the Coulters to talk. Lee ends up driving her back to the hotel and they have a heart to heart. Lee and Rosemary walk Susannah to her stage coach and plan on visiting her the following week when they go to LA.

Elizabeth goes to check on Gowen and he informs her that Lucas has pulled out of the company. This upsets her so she goes to confront Lucas. He tells her that he had to pull out because he was paying the men out of his own pocket and just couldn't afford to do it any longer. Elizabeth apologizes for not giving him the benefit of the doubt. Lucas goes to Gowen with a proposition that he declines. Later, Gowen approaches Lucas about buying him out of business and Lucas accepts, but is nervous about running the company.

Lucas invites Elizabeth to celebrate her book deal at the library. He has a romantic dinner set up with champagne and candles. He tells her that it's not a date, but if it were, he would take her jacket. She takes her jacket off and hands it to him. Swoon!

Fiona and Florence interview Molly for the operator position. Fiona ends up telling Carson that she doesn't want to leave her job but her boss is forcing her. He gives her a little pep talk prompting her to call her boss to speak her mind. Carson runs into Fiona the next day and she tells him the good news that she's staying in Hope Valley but she was fired from her job.

Nathan has struggled the whole episode to ask Elizabeth out on a date. Finally, he asks her to have dinner with him once he returns from Buxton. As Nathan and Bill leave town, they're stopped by the mysterious woman who arrived in Hope Valley in the last episode. She has them at gunpoint. We find out that her name is Jenny and she's Elias' sister. Nathan tries to talk sense into as he slowly walks toward her. Unfortunately, the Mountie driving the wagon pulls out his gun and Elias yells out to Jenny and we hear a gunshot.

Bill comes riding back into town with the wagon yelling to Carson that he has a man with a gunshot wound. Everyone on the street starts to panic and Fiona runs into the mercantile to get supplies for Carson. Elizabeth overhears someone shouting that they think it's Nathan who has been wounded. She runs outside to hear Carson pronounce the man dead. Elizabeth turns around to see Nathan walking towards her and she runs to give him a hug.

This was a jam packed episode that I really enjoyed. The scenes with Lee, Rosemary, and Susannah were very emotional and very well acted. I'm also excited about Elizabeth's book deal and to see who she finally picks.

The HUG heard around the world

This writing was very good in this season finale. The only reason I did not give it a 10 was because E and N did not kiss at the end of the finale. Wow, What great chemistry these two have. I went back and re-watched this episode many times and I am so disappointed the new writer decided to go in a different direction with the show. These two would have made an epic love story, better than J and E ever was, what a missed opportunity.

Great ending

Love the ending. Thank you Mr. Alfonso Moreno for the great writing and you made the wise decision to allow us to accept and welcome Mountie Nathan Grant into our hearts, even though he was to come in as the leading man from the very beginning. Your writings led him to us and into our hearts. Bravo Mr. Moreno.

Beautiful and unexpected ending to this episode. Too bad that they didn't follow through with it the next season.

This is the end of a good series.

This episode was probably one of the finest that WCTH has produced. It finalizes the beautiful love story between the Mountie and the school teacher. This is one I could watch over and over. I consider Season 7 to be the last season of WCTH. Season 8 is trash. For your own good, stop watching after this episode.

Beautiful storytelling

This season had a lot of fantastic stories culminating in a wonderful finale. I felt like this episode truly captured the spirit of the show and left me with all the warm fuzzies! If you enjoyed the series in earlier years, I think this episode will be a joy for you to watch.

That ending did not make much sense

Warning: Spoilers
We saw a lovely relationship develop between Lucas and Elizabeth during season 7, from initially being friends to becoming romantically involved. She clearly got a shock when she thought Nathan had been killed and completely overreacted by running to a man she really didn't care that much about. Interestingly, it was Lucas the cameras honed in on to see his reaction. I know it's drama but really?

All the feels with this ending.

This was a beautifully written episode with an absolutely amazing ending! This was where the series ends for me. Season 8 was so poorly written with storylines all over the place and a horrible ending.

Epic finale for an epic love story
pegquinn24 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
After the painful loss of Jack, we watched Elizabeth gather the strength to stay in Hope Valley and raise her son on her own. Before long she had two suitors -- a shady, wealthy and suave businessman and an awkward yet humble and just family man/mountie. One pursues Elizabeth while Elizabeth pursues the other. In the final scene of this finale, circumstances lead Elizabeth (and everyone in town) to discover which of the two men has truly captured her heart.

The supporting cast also had wonderful story lines in this episode, particularly Lee and Rosemary.

This is an episode that can be watched repeatedly and it does not get old!

But I highly recommend that you stop watching here. Season 8 is an epic disaster.

Grand Finale
gaille-3095419 May 2021
A beautiful ending to a well written Season 7 with Elizabeth running into Nathan's arms. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Season 8 failed to deliver, with poorly written disjointed storyline's and a badly thought out rushed conclusion. For me, this show ended beautifully with Season 7. I will not be watching Season 9 and beyond, if it even goes that far.
