Glad Torres is back!!! Loved it

Warning: Spoilers
Good episode to start the season. I'm tired of Hailey she makes horrible decisions. I'm interested to see what happens this season. Jay should leave though. He's following voight around too much. Seems like the others are going to take a backseat the those three drama haha 😂

"You are not my keeper, and you're not each other's," he says. "I'm making choices you don't like, that is on me. He's making choices you don't like, that is on him, him alone. We gotta be done with all of this, now. If it ever shows up on the job again, the three of us, we're not working together anymore, understood? It's that simple."

Voight did not flip even when his son died but now because of Ana, he is on rampage, bashing dealers and going on his personal vendetta... makes complete 0 sense..

and of course, our almight hailey on her moral highground as usual, when it is about a foster kid or rape case, she does what she wants and listens to nobody.. gets angry, shouts at suspects, almost goes voight pre nerf intimidating people.. but when it is other people going a bit off, she judges, she makes faces.. telling jay voight is becoming a problem... the same.. and not for the first time..

and here, she completely screws the deal by going in without being told to... another thing she does.. not following orders just because she thinks they are not alright and then getting on her moral highground to tell voight off.. as usual too..

just ditch her and leave the other girl... but without the annoying step child arc and her being selfish and the dude trying to be a father to the kid... focus on the cases.

Chicago P. D., MY SHOW REVIEW. (I've just binge watched Seasons 1- 10)
ronswilliams-0317129 March 2024
IMO, Chicago PD stands out for its consistent engagement, well-developed characters, and unflinching portrayal of the complexities of urban law enforcement.

One of the show's strengths is its casting. The ensemble cast, which has seen some major shifts over the years, consistently delivers strong performances. From the gruff leadership of Voight to the evolving dynamics between partners like Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), the characters feel real and relatable.

The recent addition of Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) exemplifies this commitment to strong casting. Torres is one of the most interesting characters to hit the show, Aguilar's performance is truly excellent.

Beyond Black and White: Exploring the Moral Gray Areas: Unlike some cop shows that paint the world in clear-cut lines of good and evil, Chicago P. D. embraces the complexities of law enforcement. Sergeant Voight's character is a prime example. He's a man fiercely loyal to his team and determined to get results, even if it means bending the rules. This moral ambiguity creates tension and keeps viewers engaged, sparking debates about the methods employed by the Intelligence Unit.

Is Chicago P. D. Perfect?: No show is without its flaws. But in my judgment, The Chicago P. D. series has produced far fewer weak or even cringe-worthy episodes. I found it to be better than any other show in the Dick Wolf universe. And there are well over 200 Chicago P. D. episodes.

For my money, Chicago PD has secured its place as a top contender in the world of multi-season police procedurals.

Detective Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), and Sergeant Trudy Platt (Amy Morton)

Warning: Spoilers
Favorite scene with

Detective Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) - Disobeying Hank's Orders, Blowing the Case, and being Confronted by him. Blaming him for Blaming her for Anna's Death.

Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) - Helping to Save Dante and Hank's New Informant.

Sergeant Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) - Meeting Up with the Gang before getting Awarded.

Chicago P. D. is Back and it Rocked!!! I can't believe that Jay is Leaving!!! No!!! Hopefully he Returns.

My Mom got me Hooked on this Show. I usually don't Review TV Shows. But the Chicago Series is now my Ultimate Favorite Series. Watching Last Season's Reruns got me through the Long, Hot Summer and Really Helped me through some things.

I Love Every Single Character.

Voight

I haven't watched this show in a while. I think I have missed a few seasons. I will have to go back and watch. One thing is for sure Voight will never change!! He is no-nonsense especially when he is on a mission and focused.

Have to admit that was a great scene when he took the perp down. No need for questions or banter, just end it!!!

It looks like Halstead's wife (forgot her name), Hailey I think is worried that Jay may be turning into a mini-Voight. As a cop over time I bet it would be difficult to stay morally sane 100% of the time. Hopefully Halstead remembers who he is and why he became a cop.

Good episode.

I'm so caught up in this CHICAGO P.D. episode.....

Warning: Spoilers
.....mights well go ahead and review it. Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) of the Chicago Police Department's Intelligence Unit is still reeling from the death of his favorite informant Anna Avalos that the last thing he and his crew need is to catch another illegal drug investigation. Well, the investigation falls into Voight's lap. Literally. There's a little boy who ate a strawberry with a white powdery substance that should have been powdered sugar. It isn't. It's yet another illegal drug. Hank Voight and the boy's distraught relative arrive at a nearby hospital in Hank's ride because they can't wait around for the ambulance. The boy is taken to the emergency room for treatment, only to die upon arrival. Sergeant Voight is off on another rampage. And this is despite Chief of Detectives Patrick O'Neal (Michael Gaston) telling it around at an awarding ceremony that Chicago is well on the road to being drug-free while congratulating the Intelligence Unit on doing their job. Hank sends brand-new member Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) undercover to make a drug buy, never mind that he's a mere patrol officer on loan. And Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) is getting worried. For a good reason: the drug dealer named Enzo (Robert Lee Hart) goes off half-cocked, opens fire on Dante, misses, and flees. He's in the wind, of course. And there's a chase through a back alley and through a laundromat, and Enzo is holding hostages at an apartment. Ends with Enzo getting shot and put down like a rabid dog. The episode ends Chief O'Neal offering Sergeant O'Neal complete autonomy in taking down the worst of the worst in Chicagoland--but only if Voight shuts down his investigations of the Los Tamitos gang. Something to think about, anyway. Another great episode. Enjoy. I did.

"Let it Bleed"
allmoviesfan29 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Los Tamitos gang and Anna Avalos are no more and the season opens two weeks after those twin events, with Voight "patrolling" the neighbourhood where both once were whilst the rest of the intelligence squad get medals from the chief downtown. Voight apparently can't look Upon in the eye; she thinks he blames her for Anna's death.

In recent seasons, Chicago PD has tried to smooth off some of Voight's rougher edges - watch an episode from season one and compare it to a standard episode from this year or last - but he is much mire unrestrained in this one, when a young boy dies of a drug overdose. In an attempt to bring down those responsible, we see the Voight of old come out of the shadows.

Right at the end, there is a resetting of the intelligence squad's situation. A new chief, who thinks Chicago is "going to hell" offers Voight a long leash and cash to take down the worst of the city. But only if Voight gives up his patrol. Time will tell.

A strong opening episode. Beghe does the menacing (some might say borderline unhinged) and violent Voight so damn well.

Once a Good Show, Now Desperate To Fill An Hour of TV.
MichaelFab24 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A whole episode of their standard, procedural scenes to nab a small street dealer. There is good action, but at the end of the hour, what did they get?

They spend half the episode chasing a corner dealer "Enzo," hoping to make a deal with him and an obvious undercover cop. Even the dumbest petty criminal could tell it's a set-up. How many drug dealers look all buff, clean-cut and stand there the whole time not talking?

This Torres character is about as uninspired as a mannequin. It's like the casting agents went around to gyms to find a fit, clean-cut guy who can't act.

Q: If Enzio escaped, is hiding out in a house, knows he's being hunted, then why on earth would he start shooting out the window at a squad of cops?

A: To start another chase scene so they can take 5 minutes and go to a commercial break. A chase scene where a sluggish, overweight dealer is able to outrun a group of young, trained cops for 1 mile, then barricade himself again.

Then comes Hank Voight in shining armor, kicks the back door in and shoots him. Ending it off with his usual morale lecture to Hailey.

Ok, maybe they have to start with small criminals to work their way up to the bigger ones for the entire season. Until they reach the top drug lord for the season enders.

Upton needs to go
mollychang12 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I cannot stand her. She's such a hypocrite. She does whatever she wants when it's a case she cares about. She doesn't care who's in her way. But when it's someone else, especially Voight- she has some moral high ground and tries to call him out on it. Disobeying his order to stand down and then ruining the case because she's so big headed. Believes Voight blames her for Anna's death but doesn't have enough courage to ask and talk to him. She and Halstead shouldn't even be working together let alone be partners. She questions every move Voight makes in this episode. I wish Voight told her off and put her in her place. You don't disobey orders because you don't feel it's right (multiple times) you listen to your commanding officer and if you don't like the way they run things then you can leave. I wish she would leave and Halstead stays. He's better off without her. She's a ticking time bomb. Erin Lindsay where are you!? Come back !!!!
