Sex & Nudity

  • A woman strips down to a tank-top and underwear late in the movie, and spends the rest of the film like this. None of the shots linger or are sexual.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is seen through a window to be shot several times. Blood spots appear on his body abruptly.
  • There are several shots of a woman leaned over something out of focus. It is mostly a vague red mass across the bottom of the screen. Samples are taken from the "meat." Near the end of the scene, they finally show a different angle, revealing that is the open chest cavity at the very edge of the screen. Not much is shown, nor for very long.
  • An injured man approaches from the shadows. He is missing an arm from just above the elbow. The wound is fresh, but not graphically so; it's dirty and fairly dry. A bit of blood comes from his mouth. He then puts a knife to his own throat. The camera switches to behind him. You hear the knife sound, and he falls.
  • A man shoots another man in the legs.
  • A man tries to strangle a woman.
  • A man is stabbed through the neck by the sharp appendage of an infected person.

Profanity

  • 3-4 F-bombs, 1 S.OB (not very clear)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A woman chugs a bottle of alcohol quickly to steel her nerves before doing something she knows will be painful for her.
  • A doctor fill a syringe with medicine and injects a patient's arm.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man pulls out a grenade and it explodes, injuring several people and killing himself. He is standing outside a window when this occurs, and his death is not seen. The most blood comes from the exploding window shards injuring the side of a character's face.
  • A mine shaft-like elevator's brakes disengage, sending into into rapid freefall with several characters trapped inside. The descent causes all but the one who reaches a gasmask for air to pass out.
  • A man gets progressively sicker over the coarse of the film. His illness is visible on his face, as his skin grows bruised and almost translucent at times.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • The mold operates by fusing bodies together. One of the bodies that is briefly shown is a bare breasted woman.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman's bare back is shown with a severe infection. It is very wet except for spots of mold growth, and appears more like fleshy, entangled roots than skin. There are several pustules as well and she eats a person then got shot
  • A woman's infection becomes so severe she is more mold growth than human. Part of here body is still visible amongst the spread, but it is greatly disfigured and almost fused to the floor. It is very wet, veiny, and covered in pustules.
  • An infected woman sprouts bony spines from her body, almost like ribs that rip out. The scene is very dark due to the spores in the air, and thus isn't extremely graphic.
  • There is at one point a quick shot of a bloody face and a man, also bloody, screaming at the camera while it zooms in on his face. Both bodies are mutilated but aren't onscreen for long. The lighting is bad, the movements are fast, and the whole scene is rather disorienting. The man and the face is part of the monster's amalgamated body, and appear several more times very close up.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Very wet screaming is heard while the focal character hides.
  • A man's illness progresses to the point that he fuses to part of the elevator. His body is more mold tentacles and pustules at this point, with really only his lower face left. He coughs up spores.
