A great addition to the series and a worthy Christmas Special, even if for each special the running time is reduced. This one is 40 minutes.

This episode explores the past of the farm as US Army Station of some sort. There's some fantastic humor involving a grenade that's dug up in a field, which leads Boycie to pursue an idea of opening up a museum.

Guest star George Wendt of Cheers fame plays a former US Sargent who was based at the farm several decades ago. This episode explores his potential relationship to members of the local community.

This episode works as there's a purpose to the story which is of some interest. The supporting characters are literally supporting characters in this episode with the script not overly relying on them to lead the story. For me the weaker episodes revolve around the supporting characters too much. This episode finds a suitable balance, where each character brings something to the story without been over the top.

Paul Brown makes his second and final appearance as Colin Cakeworthy and actually has more to do this episode. Shame we he didn't have the opportunity to appear again.

A decent episode.

George Wendt must have an affinity with British comedy, having appeared first on 'Birds of a Feather' and then this 'Green Green Grass' special from 2007.

Unfortunately despite John Sullivan having a co-writer credit this isn't the best of episodes, with a so-so plot stretched out a little too long.

There's some nice one liners along the way, but it's certainly not a vintage episode.
