This is about the level of writing I expected before watching the show but been pleasantly surprised it was better than. Until now. So much supreme stupidity in virtually every single aspect of this episode. The technobabble, the laboured gay stuff, black Barbie engaging in police brutality. Hopefully it's just a blip and future episodes will return to the level of 'just okay' that I can tolerate.

Definitely one of the better episodes of the season.

Warning: Spoilers
Though this episode shoves political agendas and LGBTQ themes right in your face, I think it does it a lot better than episode 7 did, as it actually serves the story and makes sense within the episode and character of Batwoman. The terrier was an interesting villain until the reveal that it was just a sad teenager pulling some pranks. The best part of the episode as usual was Alice. She's back and better than ever with a charismatic performance as she disrespects the hell out of Catherine's grave. Also, WTF is going on with Beth?!?!? I hope we get answers, because I am very intrigued and confused. A good episode, but overall a bit forgettable, to be honest.
Some enjoyable Pros, so many Cons

Alright this show still has got so many wrong things about it, both wrong and stupid.
for instance, how the hell is it possible to stop a train by a motorcycle and a metal cord?! I mean this is pretty stupid, and the fact that her motorcycle doesn't move a bit when stopping the huge amount of energy originated from the train.
another example, Kate's suit is capable of taking bullet impact without hurting the person wearing it, yet, it cannot contain the energy coming from a hit by a trumpet! and kate just gets knocked down unconscious. such these crazy things can be found very easily throughout the entire show and it seems that it's not getting better. At least not in this season.
Also there is gay stuff. Which is really overrated and disgusting, especially here.
But if you can manage to neglect these flaws, I think this is an enjoyable show. This episode in particular. Alice is a really good villain.
And that ending was so crazy. I'm excited to see what has really happened.
ps: This weeks villain created a big hype at first, but turned out to be nothing really. This was not a wise move at all.

Why is everyone so hooked on the lesbian controversy? I don't mind that Batwoman doesn't like Captain America (besides: nice joke). Everyone made fun about the gayness between Batman and Robin but don't want it to be non-funny. Haters gonna hate. What is so wrong about it? It's the indoctrinated belief by the church. And with all this nonsensical action (speeding train without emergency brakes, a motorcycle that can stop it and an abrupt stop where the laws of physics don't apply) it's closer to the classic Batman than ever! Holy macaroni! Yes, the gay theme is a bit too forced onto us, but it is essential for our society to accept it amongst us. The fact that we are raging us up with it whilst blaming the writers for it is the proof that this discussion is not over. For me I hope the writers turn it up a little more in a serious direction than comedy because they have overdone it with the Legends. It was fun in the beginning but now it's more and more nonsense. What's next, vampires? So I sincerely hope that they stop rubbing the gayness under our noses, YES WE GET IT, wind it down to a more subtle level and concentrate more on the crime fighting part that it should be about. Either make it serious or fun like Gotham! But this is too exhausting for 20 episodes.
Great Episode

While there will undoubtedly be people who will complain about the focus on LGBT themes, this was overall a solid episode. A little representation never hurt anyone. This was a great return for the season and I can't wait to see what happens after that ending.

Hello? Boring!!

There's no reason why Kate Kane shouldn't be offering sisterly advice to a conflicted young teen. But does she have to suit up as Batwoman to do this?
In that cool bomber jacket and jeans she'd make a perfectly good counsellor - but the programme is called 'Batwoman', for Christ's sake! Particularly as it means sidelining psycho bad sister Alice, who is understandably miffed at the demotion...

So, no issues at all with LGBT stuff in any way whatsoever - - - except when a comic book show makes every character gay.
This is not an exaggeration.
Yes, Batwoman is gay. That's a given. I've followed her in the comics since I was 6. And, obviously, her on-off-on again girlfriend is gay (or bi). Again, expected.
Now, a guest 'bad girl' is gay. So is the radio host. And extras on the streets. And the neighbour. And people at all the bars, clubs, all the cops, lawyers, doctors...
Yes. We're in Gaytham now. Maybe this was a side effect of Crisis? Whatever the case is, it's getting tiresome.
Oh, and anti-straight jokes is still prejudice. I'm looking forward to when token black characters are thrown in to make racist jokes (btw people, there's no such thing as 'reverse racism).
Thanks, CW.

The Upside

Alice is a delicious villain. Not just the acting, but the writing for the character is appealingly dark and entertaining. Crazier and campier than Cryer's Lex Luthor. He's gotta hate that!
I like Tandy and Kang.
I LOVED how they dragged The CW Supergirl this ep. More, please. Love the flavor.
it cant get any worse than this

I have no idea where to begin this is just awful beginning to end.The "acting"the senseless story ,the unlikable characters ,their weak motivations ,the cheesy roll your eyes music. The bat grappling gun can now stop a train,Batwoman lets a terrorist bomber go because she's also a lesbian WTF. All these leads me to believe Batman & Robin is way better then this and more believable
Why do I watch this?

So let's talk about heroes
blakemccartney27 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There are a few key points that need to be highlighted when discussing what makes a hero, does a hero get uoset when someone else acts heroically and takes some of the spotlight? Does a hero pick and choose what laws are okay to break and those that should not based on who does it? Does a hero let a person who almost killed 100s of people walk away with barely a warning because they are having a tough time? If you answered yes, then Batwoman is the hero for you.
get out of jail card
