In 2005, the Johnsons with their two young daughters move into an old home in Chester, Vermont that needs renovations to the tune of $200,000.
All the work uncovers some old newspaper clippings and photos dating from the Civil War. The daughter sees the images of two young girls in their bedroom and becomes playmates with them. Mother and Dad begin to experience strange happenings that make the mother want to learn more about the old house. She investigates its background after her husband sees several spirits that awake him from sleep.
Finally, with the help of some investigations by psychics, the spirits are able to cross over.
