Great storyline but the ending sucks
isabelletran25 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Great first 15 episodes but the ending does not solve all of the problems of the leading female character. Does the ending indicate that as long as you are rich, you can sabotage other people's family and happiness WITHOUT paying any price? Does the ending indicate that as long as you divorce, all of your stupidity and cruelty which you cause from cheating your beloved and devoted wife are long forgiven? No, as a devoted fan to this almost great drama, I do not agree with the ending at all. Disappointed ending ruins the entire awesome drama. The heat, anger and anguish from episode 1 to episode 12 do not rhyme with such a rush and incompetent ending in episode 16.

Someone's ending, someone's beginning
alaningle78 February 2021
A husband and wife work on the same team providing V.I.P. customers extra service for a prestigious store. One day she receives a text telling her that her husband is having an affair with another member of the team. As she investigates her fellow workers she unintentionally uncovers many of their dark secrets. A very well acted series which catalogues the breakdown of a relationship and the stages that the individual experiences whilst going through it. Even though earlier episodes are a little slow it is well worth a watch.

Leading Man

Warning: Spoilers
An interesting series and some really good acting from all the cast, bar one. I found the actor playing the husband totally wooden and unconvincing. Who would have believed he was involved in an affair ?

Non-stop interest as to who is the mistress but ending may be not as satisfying altho.....
gclefjag14 November 2020
Very interesting series as you want to know who is the mistress, and you'd guess as each episode takes place. Although the ending may not be as satisfying for some but it's realistic as life is really not always a happy ending. The ending is also good because both parties had moved on with their lives. See how.😊

Excellent drama that felt real
skistud-5568525 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was hesitant to watch VIP, but I like realistic K-Dramas and VIP was a pleasant surprise. I really appreciated the writer's portraying the main characters in a realistic way. Relationships are complex, and the break-ups of them, are rarely black & white. There is usually a lot of grey zones in culpability and the show did an excellent job of showing this. As much as some people like their dramas to have good, bad & evil characters when breakups are concerned, in most cases this isn't reality. The sub-stories were also interesting and realistically portrayed, but what kept me watching was the main story.

And the writer's knocked it out of the park with a superb ending. It was true to the story & the characters. It was the best you could hope for after all the drama they went through together. They are not bad people. Just a loving couple that went through a traumatic event that caused a crack in their marriage and had difficulty overcoming the increasing size of that crack due to infidelity & communication issues. I felt at the end that if this were a real couple, as time healed the pain of their past, they could be true friends.

Annoying lead character
sepidehzekavat25 May 2021
The main female lead is annoying throughout, I completely understand why she is frustrated and upset but it really drags on with her for what felt like longer than needs be to the point where I liked her 'enemy' more.

High quality production, slow but not boring
backnblack-061239 November 2020
This is a really well made series not your childish RomCom, its slow but intense a lot going on and the cast does a great job showing it without words, lot of whoring also going on in this but its done with class and dignity. The ending was fine for me justice was served

Realistic series about adultery - a bit slow but good in parts
phd_travel1 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This series aired a year before World of the Married and is an interesting contrast. It's a less melodramatic and more realistic story about infidelity and divorce. The first part plays out like a slow mystery frustrating at times. You want to see who is the mistress of the husband. Around Episode 10 things come together and the reveal is quite good. There isn't much screaming or fighting. Everything is laid back and quite civil. The characters are not villains so much. The viewer gets the point of view and some sympathy for each party to the adultery, the mistress, the wife and the husband. So in the end you kind of feel for each party to the affair. The illegitimate child connection is quite good and explains the infidelity. Quite sad when the mother in law had to apologize for the son's infidelity. Realistic in some ways but some may find it boring for a drama. Along the way there are some issues carried by supporting characters about working moms and sexual attacks at the work place. The actual VIP catering to rich folks big spenders thing they do for the department store feels rather much ado about nothing. Some people didn't like the ending but it was probably the best outcome. There was no repairing the marriage since he still could not give her up until the circumstances became too difficult. The mistress did bad things but acknowledged she was wrong and it's hard to hate her totally. The husband was frustrating but you can see how the miscarriage led to the affair. Jang Na Ra as the wife acts well enough but her character doesn't illicit sympathy some how. Lee Sang Yoon as the husband should have been allowed to emote more instead of just staring then covering his face a few times to cry. Didn't see much passion for the mistress. The actress who plays the mistress acts well and has the most emotion. The supporting characters look a bit alike. Too many women of the same age with similar hair was confusing at first. This series isn't that entertaining but it's okay to watch and has some insights about adultery and divorce.

Drama that captivates in more than one aspects
pagal-tigerniskson15 November 2020
I am lost for words after watching this on what i feel about this drama. I really appreciate that this drama determined to stand out from what the usual infidelity dramas attempt to do with the revenge plots. Which is what made me frustrated watching through this as well, since i don't have anyone that i could definitively channel my hatred towards , seeing it unfolds on the premise that people aren't necessarily have to be bad to make the bad decisions that hurt others, sometimes the circumstances that spins out of control leads them to having hurt themselves and hurt others in the course. This drama delivers excellent writing which had me wrestle with the discourse on most thought provoking philosophies , that i still couldn't decide what i would do unless i am in that situation, which is what most of the lead characters had to go through as well on the dilemmas, It creates high points at end of each episodes and shows the characters in grey shade added with layers that a one dimensional good or bad. Excellent cinematography and absolutely gorgeous camera work in most of the scenes shot outside and music held the tone and the tension of the drama throughout. When it finally ended, i was thinking there is no way i could judge these people by just watching their lives, as each of them had to carry the scars and live with the consequences of what left of the precious life time. On EP:16 when Ohn Yoo Ri cried in that popup bar, i reached for my third tissue as i was crying along with her and was really heartbroken on the fact how sad the situation was, despite the fat i despised and skeptical on her character felt like she could turn evil anytime in those previous episodes. I would have felt satisfied it it was like a 20+ episode drama since it had potential to explore the character more example Lee Hyun Ah character could have been more vulnerable and romance scenes for that couple could have breathed a little more than with the rushed ended for them. She had the potential to have carried an entire separate drama as a lead. All in all this is totally a worth watch that goes to show how unimaginably homewrecking , devastating and painful to be unfaithful to your spouse who chose to spend their entire precious life with their partners.

Really worth watching
miraje-6093415 February 2023
The soul-destroying pain of infidelity on a loving couple. The lives that are shattered after, and due to age may never be the same. The years that went into love, for it to not be looked at in the same way afterwards. The sacrifice of love for fleeting emotions.

This show hit me like a ton of bricks. I finished it a few days ago but I'm still thinking about it and especially about the aftermath of the main characters.

Choosing a partner and loving them is probably the most important decision we can make in our lives, but not many things in this world can be worse than cheating on your loving partner - this show made that clear for me.

I highly recommend it, there are many interesting sublopts and it exposes the secretive world of very rich people in Korea. But it's a must watch for the way it explores work, meaning, love, family and relationships, especially when one is in their 30s and 40s.

Outstanding
glsharma-0392424 September 2020
My friend suggested me to watch it and I am satisfied without any problem.

Great directon, suspense and drama. I thought that I am watching a real story, not a web series. Expression of all characters looks too much real.. specially Miss Lee (Manager).

Thanks for making such a great show.. loved it

Well written, well directed but acting let it down
Dillydaydream14 August 2023
I really enjoyed this Kdrama. The portrayal of a marriage breaking down was well done. At first it looked like it was purely due to the husband's affair but as each episode showed us different and difficult times in people's lives and relationships it became less easy to blame the husband. The drama highlighted one of the main culprits as the fact that people did not talk to each other, keeping too many secrets. It was obvious by the end that the wife did not really know her husband.

The drama was certainly absorbing but some of the acting was disappointing - in particular Lee Sang-yoon as the husband had the same expression all the way through- very wooden and stiff and totally unemotional.

All in all well worth watching.
