The fake American accents really annoying and off putting?

A "Red Mark" Operation
lavatch18 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The nefarious John Carmichael is intent on recovering Clara (trainee #242), who is safely ensconced in the beautiful Bukovia forest in Romania with Hanna, who seeks to protect Clara from Carmichael. Unfortunately, Clara's desire to reunite with a fictitious mother that her programmers have convinced her exists, leads her to leave the forest.

Clara takes the bait and arrives at a hotel in Bucharest. The sensitive Marissa Wiegler is waiting for her with a new identity of a young woman named "Clemency." Clara is apprehended and will presumably be reunited with the other thirty trainees in the Meadows in Northern England.

At the Meadows, we meet Sandy and Jules, the latter of which is aware that the trainees are being fed lies. Like Clara, Sandy is more gullible, believing that she has a loving family in Ohio. Leo Garner is head of the "red mark" operation in the Meadows. A new CIA operative, Terri Miller, joins him to write the phony bios and send fictitious messages to the trainees.

John had promised Marissa that he would not pursue Hanna. But he goes back on his word, and Hanna is nearly killed in a blast at the cabin where Clara met the kind mother and daughter who drove her to the Bucharest hotel. At the close of the program, Hanna shows up in the lobby of the hotel to be confronted with Marissa. The two make eye contact in the final seconds of the program.

Season two off to a good start
eyeguy723 July 2020
Season two off to a good start despite last minute script rewrites evidenced by some obvious ADR. I felt season one had a good mix of action and drama, suspense and character development. Hope season two builds on this and doesn't fall prey to the sophomore slump.

Disappointing S02
mike-tan-58-41254010 July 2020
Season one was fast paced with a good story line and focused on Hanna. Season two is quite disappointing with a weak storyline and by bringing more kids into play. It has become a serie with more children characters. To bad of this Amazon serie.

It is Safe in the Forest --- Hanna comes full circle
robfollower3 July 2020
This episode does a great job of drawing the viewer in . Esme Creed-Miles as Hanna is fabulous . She has come full circle from season one hence the name " Safe" the forest no doubt . The second season opener expands with exploring character development of the young women Áine Rose Daly and Yasmin Monet Prince after they have left the original Utrax facility. Mireille Enos returns as CIA operative "Marissa Wiegler" and introduces Dermot Mulroney as Utrax overseer "John Carmichael."

By showing more of the world of Utrax and forcing Hanna to make tough choices as she confronts how she can impact the world, the series becomes more thoughtful and insightful, while also serving up all the butt-kicking action fans have come to expect. The combination of escapism and action makes for a heady formula and it makes for a hell of a ride. 9/10

Missing an extra CIA extra in this episode
danny_meyer25 November 2021
Loved the story but lacked extras in the cia office. If they rerealease this they need to add back in any cut scenes. Great series though.

Wouldve been a ten they kept the original takes.

Decent enough but not good enough.
LegendaryFang5612 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
At the very least, it was a better start to the season than the premiere of the first season was. It may have been slower or whatever but I was more invested and drawn into it, which still isn't saying much. The first season was underwhelming and I don't have high hopes for this season.

Something that's not that big of a deal that I think is a convenient but considerate touch is having the trainees be assigned new identities. It makes sense when thinking about it from an in-show point of view, but it also gives the audience a name to refer a certain character by.

I mean, there are only two characters, so far, who I think will hold some significance in this season, which seems obvious, who have been focused on in this episode that we were told their fake names. And I don't think we were told (or shown) their real names in the first season, at least not Sandy's. I don't think Jules was shown in the first season. But if she was, I think she was just there to be there.

Anyway, I'm going into this season expecting it to not be that enjoyable, just like the first one. But as long as there isn't teen drama or at least not too much of it, and not an obnoxious, dysfunctional family like there was in the first season who had way too much focus and screentime, in a show like this, no less, that's supposed to be about a girl with enhanced capabilities in a more action-packed manner, I think this season will, at the very least, make for decent enough entertainment. Something that the first season hardly managed to accomplish, unfortunately.

Boring
bobcozzi4 July 2020
If I wanted to listen to teenage girls talk about nothing, I could go out side. This episode was written by the Series Creator and yet has the flow and prose of a pretentious teenager. It took 40 minutes before I even looked up to see what was going on as absolutely nothing happens in this episode.

What a snoozefest
terrylarosa15 July 2020
First season was mildly entertaining though it meandered when she hooked up with that family but this first ep was a tedious drudgery and completely uninvolving. I had no idea what was going on because it was hard to focus on something so mind numbingly dull. What a disaster. One more ep like this and I'm out. Bleaahhh!!!

Don't You Want To Be Safe???
wandernn1-81-68327412 August 2021
Okay so after a fairly mediocre season 1, here I am again watching the 1st ep of Season 2. Albeit not binging, picking this up again after at least a year long break from watching.

Opening with a drone search of the forest finds Hanna and Clara barely escaping getting spotted. 242 and the other trainees being relocated yet again.

Hanna and Clara train in the forest but Clara cannot resist the temptation to try to find her mother. Clara goes and gets swooped up by Wiegler.

Basic mostly uneventful ep. 5/10.
