The class is assigned to make a movie about Principal Kidswatter for the new movie making class, and Todd is cast in the lead role. However, he soon becomes even worse than the real Kidswatter. / After Myron fails at being Safety Monitor, Maurecia takes over the job with a little too much gusto. Myron, however, refuses to give up his position and tries to reclaim his position, by ripping all of Maurecia's safety violation slips.

Principal Kidswatter decides to move the school, so all the students protest. When all of their protests end up making the school better, Kidswatter disguises himself as a new student to undermine their efforts. / When Stephen is told that he can't lead the school parade on account of the elf costume that he wears to school everyday, he attempts to change himself into "Mr. Normal." The other students like Stephen for who he really is, and convince him his oddball attire and attitude truly represent Wayside.

Goon, Dana's older brother, visits and Myron wants to be a rebel just like him. But, he's not a rebel, he just never turned in a homework assignment. Dana, Maurecia, and Todd must help him finish it while avoiding Mrs. Jewls and Principal Kidswatter who are out to catch this "fugitive." / The air conditioning unit on the roof malfunctions and covers the classroom with snow and traps the students in it. The class splits into opposing groups led by Maurecia (whose focus is on "taking action") and Todd (who wants to prepare for survival).

Miss Mush claims Sammy is sick (although he is dead), so she goes away to find the Golden Bowl of Mamaland to cure him. While she's gone, Dana is tasked with watching him and Sammy ends up being passed around, giving Mrs. Jewls' class an opportunity to say what they've always wanted to say while he's in their hands. / After Todd and Maurecia free an octopus who they think Miss Mush is going to cook, Principal Kidswatter goes on a Captain Ahab-style hunt for the creature, believing "that seafood ate my seafood" at a fish restaurant one night.

All the kids are forming bizarre after-school clubs, except for Todd, who creates a plain, old "Science Club." Myron laughs at him, believing his club will be better, until he see Todd's club has managed to build a functioning rocket. / A series of events leads Myron to get confused and think he is actually stuck in his own version of "The Christmas Carol." The other kids are baffled, as he mistakes them for Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.

Myron accidentally convinces Principal Kidswatter to bet the school in a winner-take-all climbing contest with Le Chef. Fortunately, no one can climb the building better than Miss Mush. / Dana must help Shari, Maurecia, Myron, Todd, and Louis deal with various Wayside-style disasters, while still trying to get to class before the bell rings in order to break the perfect attendance record (1,448 days in a row).

Principal Kidswatter loathes the idea of teaching. But, after getting stuck having to substitute for Mrs. Jewls, he soon discovers the joys of the classroom. / Myron convinces Small Eric to change his name to "Small Myron" in order to get noticed more. In order to sit closer to Todd, Maurecia volunteers to become one of the Three Erics (as "Eric-Who-Loves-Todd"), but she has difficulty fitting in with the close-knit Eric trio.

Miss Mush tells fortunes by reading Mushroom Surprise stains, and predicts Maurecia will grow up to be a milkmaid. Meanwhile, Principal Kidswatter tries to change the future predicted for him from the last time he ate Mushroom Surprise. / Maurecia tries to pass a love note to Todd during a pop quiz, but it accidentally gets passed to Eric Fry who starts a chain of the whole class answering Maurecia's note. Todd now needs to get the note back from everyone, including Principal Kidswatter, before it reaches Maurecia.

Todd sets out to debunk the numerous urban legends about a former student named Nick who is credited with all kinds of fantastic school stunts, including visiting the 19th floor and exploring the Cow Bathroom on the 2nd floor. / Dana starts broadcasting a popular radio advice show over the school P.A. But things go awry when she loses her voice and Myron takes over, giving everyone the worst possible advice and attributing it all to Dana.

Maurecia loves being first until she becomes the slowest kid in school due to a Kidswatter rule forcing her to put square wheels on her skates. She eventually learns there's no sense rushing everywhere if you just end up getting there alone. / When Joe's hair becomes overwhelmingly large and messy he is shunned by the other students. They eventually learn Joe has been hiding several displaced yard animals in his afro to protect them from Kidswatter's bizarre "yard beautification" plans.

The kids attempt to help Upside Down John stand upright in order to avoid the "failures" of his upside down ancestors, only to realize that John's family accomplished more on their head than most people ever do standing on their feet. / While trying to find out who destroyed both his office and his rubber band ball, Principal Kidswatter hears four different Rashomon-style explanations. But it's not until he hears a fifth story from one of the cows that he truly understands.
