A decent followup which continues to characterize and set-up.

Animation continues to be goergeus and Thorfinn gets more depth. The fathr is the deepest character so far, but nothing in the show has striked me as special so far. Floki gets more or so introduced but not fleshed out. This episode just could have been better at hooking us in and so could the pilot have been better.

8.2/10.

You don't have any enemies. No one has any enemies. There's no one who it's okay to hurt

Warning: Spoilers
With a visit from an old acquaintance of Thorns, we learn more about his past, a former powerful warrior who has now stopped all fighting to decide on a life of peace, dedicated to building a family, and taking responsibility for the life and destiny of a Viking village. Thorns is forced to go to war with the men of the village, he who had made a definitive cross on combat must now impose the horrors of war on his new companions, Thorns faces the ignorance, delusion, and infatuation of the men of the village, but also his son Thorfinn. Wanting more than anything for his son not to follow in his footsteps, he says to him : "You don't have any enemies. No one has any enemies. There's no one who it's okay to hurt".

Young Thorfinn is still too young to understand the true meaning of these words, and translates this warning as yet another way of protecting his childish sensibility from the reality of the adult world.

A very good episode that lays the foundations for Thorfinn's character and introduces the story's key themes.
