A guilty trio
JordanThomasHall9 March 2017
John Monroe (William Windom) is pressured by his editor Hamilton Greeley (Harold J Stone) to produce his magazine sketch as the deadline looms. John seeks comfort in his home office to work but procrastinates as writers so often delight in. His daughter Lydia (Lisa Gerritsen) pops in to catch him doing a soft-shoe number. He rushes her out and she falls down the ladder breaking her arm. Dr. Gray (familiar crime series character actor Milton Selzer) gives a nervous, guilty John and his wife Ellen (Joan Hotchkis) instructions. Hamilton arrives at the Monroe household with a big present for Lydia after feeling guilty for her broken arm with pressuring John. Fellow writer Arthur (Stuart Margolin, "The Rockford Files") arrives with a big gift of his own, feeling guilt for always being in John's office chatting it up. The trio all argue their guilt. In talking with Lydia, John comes up with an idea for the sketch.
