This episode is set in York, England. A group of thirty corpses is found in an ancient burial ground. This isn't unusual--after all, various civilizations have been there for many millenia. However, what makes them so unusual is that all thirty have been decapitated! Who were these people---were they Romans or members of a local tribe? And why were they killed this way? In addition to having their heads lopped off, they had many other violent injuries--including, in one case, a stab wound to the groin (ouch!!).
The show, as usual, is narrated by Liev Schrieber and consists of many interviews with various British academicians as well as a few brief recreations. It's very typical of the shows in this series--and is similarly well done and fascinating. A very good show for those who love history and/or love forensics. Well worth seeing.
