Nancy Travis has always been the cute dependable woman that men don't realize is the love of their lives until their sanity depends on it. She's older but still has the same cute girl smile. The date scene with Sandy is mellow and adds to the hangout vibe of this series. It's a hangout series, basically.
Perhaps too many old men "things don't work" jokes and pop culture references, and thankfully there are only about one or two Right Wing jabs every three or four episodes (producers have to show their "Religion" to the viewers but at the same time must face/realize that not only registered democrats pay for Netflix or movie tickets). Anyhow, good show. The acting student girl with the full lips is hot. Good actress.
Michael Douglas thinks she likes him, and frankly, he kind of resembles an old surfer version of the crypt keeper but... anyhow... As a fan of MD's since the 1980's it's fun to see his performance and how it sometimes recalls his past characters.
PS Having seen Season 3 already and going back rewatching this, I can see how, during this season, Paul Reiser is basically introduced as Alan Arkin's eventual replacement. In fact, a few episodes back, Arkin gets jealous about Douglas's friendship with his future old mans on in law, but... anyhow...
