Not the best episode of this truly great series, but a solid one. The animation is fine, with luscious underwater backgrounds especially. My only disappointment though was the character animation of Prince Eric, who makes a cameo here. Here he isn't as handsome as he was in the movie, he looked somewhat ragdollish. The music as usual is lovely, the story is effective and the characters are likable. Ariel is still resourceful and headstrong, Sebastian is hilarious and here we have not one but two villains. Mobster Lobster is as devious as ever, and it was delight to see the Evil Manta again. Once again the voice work is perfect, Jodi Benson is wonderful as Ariel, Kenneth Mars is an inspired King Triton, Samuel E.Wright is a fun Sebastian and Joe Alaskey is a perfect Mobster Lobster. Tim Curry, apart from his voice sounding as though it had been electronified, is suitably menacing as the Evil Manta. Overall, entertaining and fun. 9/10 Bethany Cox
