The figure that appears during the séance is the ghost of Joshua Collins, Barnabas' father. He warns of an evil at Collinwood and a man both living and dead. After the ghost is gone, Roger comes in, back from another trip.
Gladstone makes another blackmail attempt on Cyrus who refuses to pay him a penny. Horace has proof Cyrus and Yeager's handwriting is the same.
Gladstone later calls Larry Chase and tells him he has information on John Yeager, they agree to meet at the Eagle later.
Chase also meets with Cyrus at the lab and tells him of an appointment with a man named Gladstone. After Chase leaves, Cyrus picks up the potion.
