I really liked the concept of this short and expressive documentary. It starts with celebrations - politicians and crowds celebrate victory in the sounds of triumphal music. We soon realize that the victory is the one that ended second world war - a period of destruction, suffering and confusion which is retraced using very well known film sequences run at high speed, while the music turns also in an accelerated sound whirl. Then we slow down again and focus on some of the victory sequences - this time we discover behind the joy the suffering and humiliation of the women who are punished for having been in relationships with the conquerors and occupiers of yesterday - scenes painful to watch played on the vibrant soundtrack of the Marseillese.

There is no commentary. No commentary is needed. The only more suggestive comment is maybe the English translation of the title at the end - Even if she had been a criminal ...
