The final episode of Slinger's Day before it was slung off to the hall of shame.

Hardie ends up breaking the shop window after he threw a can of new potatoes. It also ends up injuring Mr Crawford the new chairman of the supermarket chain who paid an impromptu visit.

Crawford wants Slinger to stay up all night and guard the shop once it becomes clear that a glazer is not available to replace the window the same day.

Slinger does reluctantly stay behind as no one else wants to join him. It does not stop Hardie and Colin to trying to put a stunt on Slinger late in the evening.

However the biggest shock is for Mr Crawford again when he pays another surprise visit with a bottle of champagne.

Despite the champagne, is it really acceptable to expect Slinger to be working for over 24 hours non stop just because he was the supermarket manager.

Desperate stuff and feeble comedy. Poor Bruce who so wanted to get away from games shows and got stuck with this mess. Even in 1987 ITV bosses claimed that their comedy output was as good as the BBC. That certainly raised a laugh!
