I discovered The Critic back in the 1990s when a friend, who knew I was a Simpsons fan, recommended I try The Critic, and certainly I'm glad I did init. Brought to you by some of the creative team of The Simpsons, The Critic is sharp, satirical and funny, and this episode from season one, Every Doris Has Her Day, is quite touching because believe it or not, Jay and Doris develop a friendship, and they enjoy hanging out together around New York City. Jay thinks Doris could be her biological mom, but not to be. Anyway, Doris is voiced by Doris Grau, who voiced Lunchlady Doris in The Simpsons. Grau sadly passed away in 1995.
