The Genie was a good character the First problem with this show was they did not stick to the original story line. The started off saying he was a rough Genie in poisoned in a rug. If that had been used in the whole show it would have been better. Secondly, the family was not a good choice either. The genie resembled Zorro or Don Juan but suddenly with a single mom, he is not the committing type. Third, what single mother struggling to make ends meet would say no to a genie that could give her everything? Forth, when choosing cast for you pilot get actors that are as good as John Ales and Jerry Van Dyke. The rest of the cast could not hold a scene on their own. Lastly, No matter how good the cast may be they are limited to the storyline, diminishing story means diminishing performance. I loved the Genie and he had potential but this was the wrong story line for him. The rating is for John Ales' performance everyone else stunk.
