"Glory," as played by Jennifer Lea, is the name of the woman that Johnny Yuma sees being dumped in the middle of nowhere, forced to travel on foot. At first she is mistrusting, but after he offers her a canteen she tells him why she was escorted out of town, convicted of murder without a trial. Johnny rides into town to buy her a horse and provisions to head to the neighboring community, only to run into the bitter and vindictive Emma Longdon (Marie Windsor), who has poisoned the mind of her brother Don (William Bryant, second of nine) against Glory, the woman he intended to marry. To ensure that he leave town unmolested, Yuma forces Emma to accompany him on the horse he rented for Glory, and lets the woman walk back on foot, though her brother joins her in tracking their quarry during a night in the rugged mountains. Jennifer Lea was no stranger to Nick Adams, having appeared with him in the debut episode of Steve McQueen's TV Western WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE, and there's a cameo from John Mitchum (Robert's younger brother), whose greatest fame came opposite Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry films of the 1970s. Jennifer's character also earns the distinction of offering Johnny Yuma his first screen kiss, though not the last.
