With the success of Only Fools and Horses, it was only a matter of time that Nicholas Lyndhurst would get to head his own comedy series.
In this first episode he plays Peter Chapman a lowly paid Electronics Professor at the local Polytechnic. Suddenly he is sacked without explanation and told to report to a recruitment agency.
That agency is MI5 and they want him to teach the inept spies how to use the gadgets properly.
Chapman always has a quip, he cannot tell his wife that he is a spy and his code name is Piglet because the better ones such as Puma or Panther have been taken.
Apart from the biting remarks, Chapman is also a bungler, probably reflecting the popularity of The Naked Gun film at the time. However his botch up leads to a rather quick promotion.
