The High School hero grew up
vex86bird18 June 2007
When you watch some episodes and then see them 15 years later you catch things from a different perspective sometimes. Case in point: There are 2 sides to this episode. From the Parker standpoint you see the old High School hero come back to town and one would think, "Wow, that's Ronnie Ray Rasmus!". Then after being out of High School for a solid 10 years you see the perspective of Ronnie. After seeing people from High School who haven't made anything of their lives and literally still have the mentality they had in High School you get a sense of sadness. Ronnie Ray embodies this perfectly. While he was a god in High School he hasn't changed since the day he left. It's rather ironic considering episode 204: "Future Shock" where Parker was somewhat in the 'past Ronnie' phase. He was a king in High School and didn't think one second about post-High School. If this episode played right after that episode they'd compliment each other well. While the end of the episode was rather depressing it's true to life and very easy to relate to... Very good episode!

The natural

Warning: Spoilers
Glory Daze, an episode from season two of Parker Lewis Can't Lose has a special guest star: Harry Anderson (who sadly passed away in 2018) as Ronny Ray Rasmussen. Anyway, here there is redemption at the end for Ronny, who hands over his School alumni prize to Parker's dad. The homage to Robert Redford movie The Natural at the end was absolutely inspiring without a doubt really. The vertigo parody for Principal Musso was also funny for sure, and there was so much going on. Anyway, I'm enjoying very much re-watching Parker Lewis Can't Lose after having become a fan when it debuted over 30 years ago. Glory days for sure.
