A visit from her snobby rival makes Stephanie question her marriage.

A funny episode, one more to go before the grand finale. Scooter Drake returns, now married to Libby, a rich snob even worse than Stephanie. The two trade many catty remarks in the first half of the show. Libby accuses Michael of not being a blueblood though he thinks he is just as snobby as the next guy. Michael and Stephanie briefly consider divorce but soon reconcile.

Not With a Bang but a Whimper

As we lead into the finale, we have one last insipid mess. One last time we have the stupidity of Michael and Stephanie. At least some of the people on this show are realistic--even the comic ones, like George or Jim or Chester. But these two were a one trick pony and then went on forever and ever. Two of Stephanie's snobby adversaries show up and belittle her and her baby (of course, they are just like her). Eventually things come to a head. One of the real weaknesses of the eighth season has to do with Larry and the boys. They have become almost supernatural, exposing great accomplishments. Their charm was their pride in their outrageousness. They are finally laughable in the worst way.
