George is dating Sarah, sister of his friend Dutch but she likes him more than he likes her.

This is a funny episode with a good performance by Susan Ruttan (later on LA Law) as Sarah. Stephanie has a funny subplot about passing a written drivers test after her licence expires. George asks Dick to come along on a date he has with Sarah to help him break up with her, for the funniest scene.

Incredible Pacing and Dialogue

I've learned that one can't judge Newhart just on a plot. It's all about the genius of Bob Newhart as he wades through the world he has found himself in. There are several little bits that are to die for. The discussion as to whether George likes Dick better than Dick likes George is hilarious, including why Dick never goes to George's room to talk to him. George has a girlfriend played by Susan Ruttan who went on to LA Law. She is serious about him but he doesn't share her feelings. He creates a plan to break the news to her and forces Dick to help him. The scene at the drive in movie is hilarious. Add to that Stephanie preparing to take her Vermont driver's license test, primping for the picture. It's great.
