"Give me an alcoholic spinster, and I'll give you a play!" So says Dakota Williams (George Murdock), the Southern playwright whom Maxwell wants to get to allow him to produce his newest play, and Fran sets him up on a date with Grandma Yetta. Of course, that one is dead in front of Niles and C.C., setting up the typical Niles comeback. Grandma Yetta shows up late, claiming to have been searching for a brassiere that hooks in the front, and they hit it off immediately. Obviously the character of Dakota Williams is based upon Tennessee Williams, and thanks to Yetta, they learn that he has not written a word in 20 years. Ann Guilbert gets some great lines and delivers them with feisty gusto. It's obvious that by this time, the producers realized that she was an invaluable asset to the show, and utilizing our more frequently was a way to go that would aid the rest of the series. Bill Clinton's brother Roger guests as himself, the first in a series of amusing cameos. Not only do we learn Maxwell's middle name, but we also learned that he's a Republican.
