"You Old Smoothie!"
kensirhan-8619830 January 2021
As Of This Moment I'm having a visit in Lol City over this episode, thanks to an Antenna rerun; after having not seen the old gal in a very long time - somehow my occasional thought of "Why I ain't I seen Maude in a very long time?" must've floated out into the right mind(s) - to rediscover the frequent laughs I got outta her is a great uplift these dreary winter days. And just tripping over this episode, in progress - the get-together at the Findlays' house - yielded an unexpected laugh: the see-through fake fur on ladykiller Chuck's (William Redfield) face. On delving into IMDb it turns out that this was his 3rd appearance, so I'm looking forward to seeing the previous ones for hopefully just as many laughs - & to further wonder if contemporary audiences with their lower resolution boxes were able to tell Redfield was wearing a pasted-on beard. What occasioned that - he couldn't grow his own, or simply The Way Things Were since it was hardly a unique occurrence - we don't know, but it just adds another level of laughs to an already funny tv show. "Right on!"

The Return Of Vivian's Ex
Jimmy_the_Gent420 December 2019
Chuck, Vivian's ex husband shows up and invites Vivian to lunch.

An OK episode with William Redfield returning in his third appearance on the show, the second as Chuck. Maude objects to Vivian going to Chuck's hotel room for lunch so Maude goes instead. She thinks she is going to talk some sense into Chuck but he makes a play for Maude instead.
