Coming home

Warning: Spoilers
It seems Magnum fights two former wars in Magnum, P. I., the one the one from Vietnam and now world war 2, which made me remember Bluto's classic line about the "Germans bombing Pearl Harbor". Anyway, here there's much compassion towards Kathleen Lloyd's waitress character, and soon after she would be recast as a district attorney, in the same way that Harry Morgan in M*A*S*H was recast as Colonel Potter after a guest appearance as someone else.

Anyway, I'm enjoying catching up on the early seasons of Magnum, P. I. (but I haven't bothered with the reboot) along with Father Brown and Law and Order.

Kathleen Lloyd's first episode
woody00231 July 2023
A well done and touching episode wherein guest star Kathleen Lloyd really shines, and the dramatic and comedic chemistry between her and Tom Selleck is on full display. It is not difficult to see why she returned to the show in the recurring role of Carol Baldwin. The two of them together were a great fit.

It's a crime that she didn't have a more high profile career, as she is an excellent actress and deserved better. She got her big break opposite Jack Nicholson in The Missouri Breaks but failed to capitalize on it, so I assume that the casting couch wasn't her style. That in itself is highly commendable, and regardless, she managed to have a solid career and worked with a lot of great talent over the years.

If you enjoyed her feisty and funny performance in this episode, I would recommend also checking out her appearances in Ironside, Airwolf, Stingray, Midnight Caller, and the horror classic from 1977, The Car, among others.

Was he AWOL?
hereclarkhere21 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If he was AWOL then it's pretty much open and shut. Dereliction of duty has it's consequences. Although rather remote, he could have manned a gun that could have shot down or even disrupted the flight path of the incoming plane that dropped the fatal bomb, regardless of the 'what ifs' had he been where he was supposed to be, he more then likely would have shared in the tragic fate bestowed upon the majority the crew.

Well if you want to skip an episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Well if you want to skip an episode. Not a bad episode Magnum's client is annoying and take away form the story. There is the usual Magnum investigation, hoods. Chases, fights and a good patriotic ending. I did not mind Almost Home. There is a personal message which is okay, but not a memorable episode. 6 stars.
