It's the morning of Hyacinth and Richard's anniversary, and he's forgotten it, but a chance phone call produced an opportunity for him to get out of his problem.
I am a huge fan of this one, it's such a funny episode, we get to see a very different side of Hyacinth's character, and we learn a little of their past. The show never really explored how they met, their wedding, or indeed their youth, but here we get just a glimpse.
Hyacinth is almost childlike here, excited for her present, we've not seen her like this before, Routledge, class as always.
Funny throughout, it's an episode where Daddy, compared to previous episodes virtually has verbal diarrhoea, he speaks so much more, and he's funny, love the horrible thing in his room. Plenty of the usual funny scenes, such as coffee with Elizabeth and the Postman, but vest of all, the sounding of the alarm, it's a scream.
