The Two-Headed Monster
Prismark1014 April 2021
Johnny Stefano was jailed in America for racketeering.

Deported back to Italy. Stefano has no plans to be a nobody in his homeland.

He has joined up with some of Europe's top criminals to run an extortion racket near Milan.

Stefano is targeting vineyard owners. If they do not pay up, he will release a vine pest called Phylloxera. A highly infectious bug that damages grapes.

Inspector Duval has been sent to Italy to figure out how these criminals will carry out their extortion racket.

It is Stefano's sister who gives Duval the clue he needed.

I have no idea why Stefano needed the help of Europe's notorious gangsters to starts his new crime business. Unless it was to take on the existing mafia crime families who would already be fleecing the vineyard owners.

I had to smirk when at the end Duval tells Stefano's sister that the outcome was the best for everyone.
