At the Drew School of Dramatic Arts, Mr. Coleman (Gordon Polk) gives his class an assignment to "be something they aren't". Wealthy young man Philip Jackson (Ron Ely, the title character of TV's "Tarzan") pretends to be a bum and runs into Loco (Barbara Eden). He asks her for money to get something to eat, and she obliges and takes him out. They begin to fall for one another, and are spotted by Mike (Merry Anders) and Gwen (Lisa Gaye). They become suspicious when she says he is a millionaire and asks her to bring him to dinner. When he truthfully tells the ladies that his super-wealthy father is Silas Jackson (Alexander Campbell) of Jackson Steel Company, none of them believe him. Philip pretends to be a butler at his family's place and Mike and Gwen snoop to see him. They tell Loco that he is merely a butler and even accuse him of being a thief. Some lessons are learned the hard way.
