Elizabeth's father, played by James Cromwell comes to the fort and ultimately dies of Cancer. The episode is one of my favorites. Hawkeye all, but declares his love for Elizabeth after the passing of her father. The scene as well written, and Lee Horsley delivers the lines perfectly. Linda Carter is as beautiful as ever. Taylor shields continues to be an ass. Hawkeye has a good time beating him to a pulp! I highly recommend watching this episode!
One of the best elements of this series is its authenticity. When it's the middle of winter in Canada, where this is filmed, it is the middle of winter on set. It gives a strong feel for what it must've been like in the mid 18th century when the story is told.
