In a rather simple story we have a man, Cy Welch, that is set for trial on theft charges and the two witnesses for the prosecution are Matt Dillon and a local farmer Grant Lucas.
Grant has come to town a few days early and gets friendly with a saloon woman Mae Talmy. Mae invites Grant to her house after work but when he shows up Mae shoots Grant claiming he was trying to break into her room.
Later Doc tells Matt that he knows the defendant, Cy Welch, as a poor gambler from back on riverboats on the Mississippi River. This goes with other information that Matt has received about Mae working on the same riverboats. Matt and Chester take a walk over to talk to Mae only to find more trouble.
Nothing wrong with the story just very predictable and played out just as expected. There was nothing that is remarkable about the episode and no great suspense during the format. Even though nicely done by the actors, it was just a plain tale that has been told many times.
