Goodbye, Mr. Gordon (#7.14)

Warning: Spoilers
Dororthy's high school teacher she had a crush on comes to Miami and asks her to help him working on an article. She does write it but he submits it without adding changes and yet not adding her name on it. And Rose is a producer of a show now which has an episode on women living together. She invites Blanche and Rose to participate only it turns out it is a show about lesbians.

The best part of the show is he lesbian story. I also like how Blanche says she doesn't mind being labelled a lesbian it is just that she isn't one. And them answering questions was a real comedy highlight especially Dorothy.

Warning: Spoilers
That's Blanche's presumption when a man calls asking for her. Dorothy's old school teacher crush Mr. Gordon (James T. Callahan) comes for a visit just as Dorothy is about to make an appearance on a local TV show. Unbeknownst to Dorothy and its producer (Rose), it's about lesbian lovers of Miami which pairs Dorothy and Blanche together. This is a retread of a "Designing Women" episode hosted by Bernice where the women of Sugarbakers were assumed to be running a brothel. The reaction of Sophia to this is very funny. Dorothy has a great retort to Sophia's questions. That only covers half the episode which focuses on Dorothy's anger when she discovers that a paper she wrote for Mr. Gordon ends up being plagiarized without crediting her. Funny moments but the fact that the other two women on the show identify themselves as image consultants seems to be forced. Obviously this was based on a funny idea that didn't improve from the first draft to the shooting script.
