So this is it, the last ever episode. It's pretty clear from the plot that the producers at the very least suspected they weren't being renewed. The Boult's are offered the opportunity - which frankly is ONLY an opportunity for Jack, the rest would be tag-alongs - setting up a green business a chemical (poisons - the company's own word) company is starting to basically rehabilitate its image. In British Columbia.
Jack would almost definitely be great at it, but as with the move to Wales, I don't see what there is for Harriet & the kids. I would be very concerned Freddy's health could be impacted if there was any city living required.
Anyway, by the close of play - after a barn raising, a few foxes & a little casual arson - the decision is left undecided. So, they could have come back, but at the same time the show gets a decent close too, if it doesn't get renewed. It's more than we viewers sometimes get.
It's a terrific little show this one. Probably a bit ahead of its time to do well enough to get a big audience and thus be renewed for multiple seasons. It wouldn't be out of place on TV now - most of the issues it covered are still current.
It's been lovely to rewatch Forever Green. Sad more people didn't watch at the time.
